They Play Hard

And we allow the children to make messes, but at the end of the day, we clean it all up.

I'm finding that the older they get, the more involved and complicated the messes get.   I am able to bear with it as long it gets cleaned up. . .

. . .and then I have a responsive burst of creativity in the quiet, composed house and I make a sewing mess of my own. . .

Margo, I was just looking through past posts in my blog and I realized I had rudely not responded to your query after my camping post. You asked if I knew the owners of the bus personally. I know the people who camped in it and they know the ownder personally. Any info passed along to your hubs would be third hand, but reliable.

Heh! It was the little snips of paper that always made me want to hang my head in weary defeat.

Yes, the messes do get bigger and messier...and the more creative the kids get, the worse the clutter and chaos, but as you said, as long as it gets cleaned up, it's all good! (as I speak, my three big ones are playing with 1,000,000 Legos, or so it seems there are that many) :-)

Margo, I think you can add "mind reading" to your skill set, because I was pondering my child's messes just this very morning. I am trying very hard to teach her to clean up her messes, and some days I feel like that is ALL that I do. (especially when my husband has embarked on one of his BBQ-ing culinary adventures and there's a mess in the kitchen as well.)

ha, Punk, I'm afraid I'm not a mind reader because any parent thinks A LOT about messes (and then there's Ben's potty training which causes such unpleasant, unpredictable messes!). My kids are decent cleaners and we had to really work at that - don't give up!
