Recently I bought a bottle of Woolite for handwashing delicates. It's always expensive. Then it occurred to me that I could ask you - maybe there's a better/cheaper detergent I'm missing. What do you use?
JJ, delicates: tights, hose, bras, wool sweaters, anything labeled "dry clean only" that could be washed by hand in cold water. I sometimes throw bras and hose in a mesh bag and chuck them in the machine with everything else. Or sometimes skip the bag.
If it's something really special I have been known to use lavender or rose handwash soap bars..........but only for my undies......I think OH would not be too pleased to smell of roses or lavender on his work site, lol. florrie x

Delicates? What are delicates?
Guess I'm not as refined as you...
I'm pretty sure that you can use Ivory dish soap for hand-washables. I do believe it says just that on the back of the bottle.
Love your blog, check it every day. Can't wait to try the baked eggs for breakfast tomorrow, the one day a week that my husband's home in the morning.
Birdy
I use any kind of dish soap that's on hand. Ajax, seventh generation, whatever!
Dish soap, baby!

Birdy, thank you!
You can use inexpensive (no name brand) baby wash.
