A New Dress for the Clothespins

Last Saturday, my clothespin bag finally, truly, broke.  Seeing as the children were with my parents visiting alpacas, I indulged myself and immediately made a new one.

It's a bit wonky.  And I meant to use all lounge-suit polyester for durability, but in my excitement, I grabbed yellow cotton knit.  Oh well.

When it wears out from its heavy load, I'll get another thrill from whipping up a new one.  It's pure fun to make household items that don't have to match my sweaters or a school dress code.

  1. Cute, cute! It looks like it's just about Sister's size... can she borrow it?!

  2. It's so cute!! I love it. It would make me smile to be driving by and see that hanging from someone's clothesline. I love interjecting some cheer into daily tasks!

  3. What a fun project! I just keep my pins in a small, army surplus shoulder bag that hangs on the back door knob. It works, but sure isn't cute like yours!

It is the best when a project doesn't really have strict expectations. I like a flexible project....but that might just be because I am not the best seamstress just yet. Do you find your creativity limited by the school dress codes? Or do you just have to save those ideas for a Saturday!?

I enjoy the conversation in the comments - thank you for that. I will answer your questions here in the comments. Please note that I don't want the world wide web to know my family's surnames and location.
