The ledge over my front door never gets direct sun and, as the weather turns colder, is well protected by our porch. As I need a squash, I bring my stepladder out to the front porch (we have a tall house) and fetch one.
Tracy, yes, because our porch is sheltered on two sides and faces south. However, I usually use the squash up by December because I decorate with evergreens and berries.
And you don't worry about spiders? I only ask because that's a favorite place for the eight-legged at our house. (never mind that I might have a itty-bitty phobia about it.)
Those pumpkins are such a pleasing colour match to your door and surrounding paintwork. It's a good thing pumpkins are quite a heavy vegeatable (or are they a fruit, not sure) otherwise I would be worried they may get blown down in a gale onto someones unsuspecting head, lol. florrie x
Punk, spiders don't bother me. Other bugs, yes. I was always taught that spiders eat the "other bugs" - oh man, I hope that's true because I don't usually kill spiders.

How lovely and practical at the same time! I adore your beveled glass, arched transom.
How practical and pretty! Will they stay good this way even after it freezes?
Love it! Looks festive and delicious too ; )
Very nice!

Gorgeous! And I thought they were just for decoration (the ones over your door, that is). How neat to have them as decor AND delicious meals!
