The story of my dining room: me, frantically shoveling calories in my mouth out of the serving dish, trying to read the newspaper, next to the 50 pound sack of sugar that was hauled up from the basement for jam making, next to the pretty bunch of peonies that Danene brought for me. All of this with the baby in my arms and the impulse to grab the camera.
Ben and I were laughing at Phoebe's funny grunts and I was trying to catch the random spit-up (I did). My, she has turned into a spitty baby! Photo by Genevieve.
She has also hit the 4-6 week fussies. Photo by Ben, who is still getting the hang of camera.
And then, peace and love.
It was a very good Saturday. Was yours?

It was a lovely day, wasn't it? I enjoy seeing how your kids seem to enjoy and help with the baby...that's one definite advantage to having older kids and a baby at the same time! :) Enjoy the jam!
Looks perfect! Mine was a little extra relaxing...the three big kids stayed at my parents' Friday night and all day yesterday so i got my work done in mostly peace and quiet! I did 13 qt of strawberries, too. Mostly frozen. And some cleaning and garden work. And feeding baby, too!
Busy and productive - and a touch exhausting ;-) I was also blessed by the presence if a friend, who kept up with my sweet baby and helped me as I prepared for the celebration after my little one's baptism today!
Busy Mom! Great shots and get some rest :)
Ah, the spits...
Does it help if you keep her upright for 10 minutes post feeding?

So happy you had a fun /jam making day with your friend. How fun.. and how yummy it taste..
Love the sweet photos of the kids and the love they show their new sister. Baby is just getting prettier every day.
Have a great week.
Oh, that newborn multitasking! Sounds like a satisfying weekend. Ours was good too....road tripped to celebrate my dad's birthday with my family.
That last face-- so smart and serious already.
On the spit up topic-every one of my five had a protein that they could not digest. The culprits are dairy, seafood, nuts and pork. For mine it was only one of them each but it made a difference right away when I figured out which one. It also reduces the fussing and them wanting to nurse too often. When the tummy hurts they think they need to eat again. You can usually add it back in at around 6 months.
Hi Margo! I don't know how you would feel about this but if you ever want to run errands or spend some time with just your bigger kids, drop Phoebe off for a few hours. I would do just about anything for some baby snuggle time!
