I knitted three washcloths from pink yarn, shooting some thin, irregular stripes through them. It is such a tiny project in the scheme of my homemaking, but I love the happy colors. The previous, terrible assortment went into the rag stash.
The pink is a marker for me and my laundry sorters that these are the laundry room cloths, not the kitchen sink dishcloths. Small details that I love.
And then I lifted the camera and took a picture of the little amber bottle of pretty berries that Genevieve put together this fall and set on the table. We have any number of strange weeds trying to grow up in our fences.
Another detail of our household, captured by the camera.

Sweet. Sometimes it's the little things that can bring us joy :)
Margo, I just love your 'little details" to the little things.. How beautiful to add the stripes for your knowing what is what..Love it..
bty.. after seeing your previous napkin cloth patching post, I took some of my napkins and added a little patch or embroidery on them..Just makes me happy and makes me think of you and your patching..ha
I love your "little, happy details" also. I think we are lucky to find joy in those details. Micro happiness.
I like the stripe.
I've just knitted a star dishcloth with some yellow cotton yarn I found I had. It looks like this: https://www.etsy.com/listing/193838860/hand-knit-dishcloths-cotton-dishcloths?ref=sr_gallery_2&ga_search_query=yellow+knitted+star&ga_page=2&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery
I'll put it with my mum's Christmas present. She knits her own dishcloths too, but wouldn't make anything that fancy. It was fun to knit- all those short rows- but is quite big and used a lot of yarn.
Hazel, that is such a pretty washcloth! And also a good idea for a present, even for a fellow knitter. Love it.
We have a color coding system for knit dish cloths at our place, too! ;) I like the little stripe down the middle!
I'd forgotten how when those berries fall off that stem it is really quite lovely.
I just recently learned that the berries are good food for some songbirds. That will help me perhaps feel more happy when I see them, instead of just stressfully imagining all the baby pokeweeds next year because I didn't get around to pulling up that one.
Love the cloths, xoxo A
A, can you believe this city slicker first thought they were mulberries until my dad corrected me? Oops. They are truly pretty, but I'm sorry they're pesty in the country.
