1000 and 40 and 35 (A Giveaway)

Dear readers,

Let's celebrate my 1000th post (which was technically this one).  And my 40th birthday this weekend!  And 35 weeks of pregnancy!  And spring - why not? - let's throw spring in there too, even though I'm still wearing knee socks, winter coats, and flannel pajamas.  In defiance of the cold, I bought daffodils for my birthday this morning and a friend brought me potted tulips.

I made you a little something - a hotpad in the hopeful greens of spring - and then I knit up a bright dishcloth and added a cute green pear loofah scrubber (safe for even delicate surfaces, tough enough to scrub off gunk  - and made in India with profits returning to the people for schools, medical care, and improved living conditions).
the three items of the giveaway

not included in the giveaway - just a lovely prop, the pair of collages by our friend Judith Rempel Smucker
To win this giveaway, just leave a comment on this post and be sure to include your email if I can't access it from your profile. For fun, if you want, you can tell us about a number that is special to you right now.  I'll close the comments on Sunday evening, March 29, and pick a random winner.  Giveaway open to U.S. and Canada addresses only (sorry dear international readers!!), but please feel free to leave a comment anyway if you wish.

Thank you, all, for your wise, funny, and kind comments that add a conversational element to this blog.  I'm not sure I would have written 1000 posts without your feedback and interest!  Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

love,
Margo

our first day of spring - sighhhhh

35 weeks!

UPDATED:  The giveaway is now closed (although the comments remain open).  The winner is #5 Kathi D in Florida.  Congrats, Kathi!  I'll be in touch to send you the goodies.

Lots of interior painting coming, gardening, food preservation, etc. I'd love the pot holder :) Thanks for blogging Margo, love your posts and wonderful photos :)

What milestones, and yes, why not celebrate them as much as possible. I know I didn't start back with post no. 1, but I sure have enjoyed them since I stumbled upon your pages now, what, years ago? My, my....time flies. I think I will post my 1,000 post this year as well, but not yet. My email is tangled_up_in_tiedye (at) gmail (dot) com.

Congrats on 1,000 posts! I'm a long-time reader, first-time commenter who really enjoys your perspective on thriftiness, cooking, sewing, and simpler living.

After bookmarking just about every single one of your posts that involved a recipe from "More with Less," I finally broke down and found a copy in a used bookstore. That and "Simply in Season" have become two of my favorite cookbooks, and I thank you for introducing them to me!

The potholder is beautiful! Thanks for sharing the chance to win the giveaway with your readers.

Nancy, the collages are part of a series with old fabric and sheep photos. The one on the top with the pie reads: home, a fresh baked apple pie it tastes so good I don't know why.

The bottom collage reads: home, a tune that echoes clear in my heart and in my ear.

I'm the wrong side of the Atlantic to be in the giveaway (love the pot holder though) but my number at the moment would be 13. We moved to number 13 on (Friday) the 13th. Seems lucky so far :)

Looking at your beautiful 35 week baby bump reminds me of the 5 miracles in our family. I loved being pregnant and partnered with God in the miracle of birth. Congrats on your milestones! You are so creative and giving, I really enjoy your blog.

Happy Birthday! What a lovely give away!

My number is 10. We will have some kiddos and grandkids here for Easter this year for a total of 10 around the table. Very special as they rarely travel for Easter.

How nice to have more than one thing to celebrate! I guess my favorite number right now is 1 - being 71 I am learning to do 1 thing at a time. More than that and nothing seems to get done - or enjoyed.

Love this giveaway, especially the hot pad. No lucky numbers at our house, really -- but 3 kids is a magical number. :)

Congratulations on your 1000 post. That is quite an accomplishment. Would love to win that dishcloth as it is unique. My number story is 15. My first baby due 15th, was born 8th. My second baby due 15th, was born 14th the month before (preemie). I too was almost 40 for 2nd baby and loved it.
