I made these cards for all the end-of-the-school-year occasions coming up. I had so much fun! My favorite one, and the one I will likely duplicate, is the square of woven patchwork. I just cut a few strips, tucked their ends over and under each other, and sewed them down.
I'm leaning towards not buying cards. I have lots of pretty paper, lots of fabric scraps, and the need for a creative outlet. I think it would be more efficient for me to sit down sometime when cards are not really needed and just make a batch. I'll have to remember this project next time I need a little sewing therapy.
Because yes, I have started another quilt and while I love making quilts, I need some brief sewing therapy along the way.

Margo, I love your cards! I'll bet you'll be selling them before long.
I just finished a quilt top with squares myself - three-inch squares like Anna did a few years ago. Without a rotary cutter, I found that in my sometime haste, I didn't cut them all perfectly, and my rows don't match up too great all the time. But, it's so amazing when you get them all sewn together, how your worries about what it would look like are unfounded and what an amazing look it takes on! I refuse to let the unevenness get me down - I'll finish it, anyway. I'm really enjoying this stress-free quilt making. Enjoy yours!
Lisa, good for you! It's not easy to get corners and seams to match up :) I just saw a neat idea in a patchwork book today: putting rick-rack over the seams of patchwork and stitching it down. It's eye-catching and it hides uneven seams!
Lovely cards! My friend has been making something similar and I just LOVE them. Just need to purchase some card stock so I can do the SAME!!! LOL! ;)
Love your cards.. what a fun and neat idea..
The rick-rack idea is a good one! I'm all for showy patches, etc.
I love these cards! My grandmother, who is a quilter, would love to receive a pack of these as a gift!
I love thoes! I too am thinking about not buying cards. I use pics and stickers. Im not a quilter, but wish I could. :) good job!

These are wonderful! Colourful, thoughtful, whimsical, unique ... this is an inspiring post about being creative. I keep seeing hand-made cards that use stamps and special edgers and cutting equipment, and thinking "I can't do that! I can't afford all the stuff and I don't have the imagination ..." but you have cracked that nut of wrong thinking. Looking forward to trying something truly different. I'm so glad you posted this; thank you for letting us see what you are up to.
Patchwork cards are the best! I agree with you on your favorite. So fun!
Your cards are so crafty...I never would have thought to dot his..frugal too!! Enjoying reading through your posts.

Very cool. I made one patchwork card for my quilter mother. Homemade cards are so much better than mass produced--though I am still working though some vintage ones I picked up that are a little more special. I think, if you liked making them well enough, you might have great luck selling these in your etsy shop, too.
