The Rick Rack Hotpads

Chalk this one up to Pinterest.  I saw a vintage hotpad on there that never left my mind.

I re-created it with my vintage cutter quilt, brown rick rack, and brown embroidery floss.  This might be my most-favorite use of rick rack yet.

This pair is in the shop.  But I might have to make a set for myself!

  1. Ric-rac always reminds me of my mother! I love it. Those are the cutest hot pads ever.

  2. I love the little ties used to quilt. You've reminded me that this is another way to quilt and may suit my beginner brain better than using a sewing machine :)

  3. Jenny_o, yes, do start with tying a comforter. It's good to realize that something just needs to hold the layers of the quilt together. You could even sew on buttons!

  4. Oh, buttons - I love buttons ... must contemplate that idea too.
