What I Did With a Ripped-Up Bedspread

The bedspread came into A's creative reuse shop ripped in half - useless, right?  but there were pretty parts to it.

I pieced together three hanging hand towels (oven towels) out of it.

Towel one went to PunkRizz. The topper is made of genuine feedsack.

Towel two went to a church lady at a fun church bazaar.

And towel three is the only one left, looking pretty in a bathroom or a kitchen.  It's in my shop!

  1. I LOVE when stuff that otherwise seems ruined gets turned into something useful and beautiful again! All the better if it turns into 3 useful/beautiful things!

  2. The towel is GORGEOUS, and because of my most wonderful cousin, I have two of Margo's beautiful and oh-so-handy hanging hand towels. My toddler objected when I hung them both up (she likes to watch her reflection in the oven door when she dances) but I enjoyed looking at them every time I'm in the kitchen--which is most of my life. THANK YOU for my kitchen beauties.

  3. WHAT is the topper for the second//the dogwood fabric? I've recently started eyeing a vintage tablecloth with a similar design (yellow background with dogwoods) that I may use as the basis for my decor scheme when we renovate our basement. I LOVE it and the topper you have looks quite similar!

  4. Polly, I got a little slice of that goldy fabric at JoAnn's Fabric. I thought it was pussywillow, sort of. But it's the most wonderful gold color and the little pussies have delicate blue shading. Can't wait to see your colors for your basement!
