Old Thread on Wooden Spools

Every time I had a few minutes, I would unwind the old thread from a wooden spool.  One of my friends was cleaning out her sewing cupboard.  I didn't want to use the old thread because it can be weak and rotten.

But I'm saving the lovely spools to wind ribbon on.

Don't forget!  Shoestring Chic #3 tomorrow!

  1. I once took a sewing class from the county agent. She said that when cotton thread gets brittle it is from being too dry. She said it could be rejuvinated by putting it in the hydrator drawer of your refrigerator overnight. And I bought a whole bag of wooden spools at the Quilters' Attic sale at the Material Resources Center!
