"Kitchen Gaiety" Aprons

When the museum store manager asked me if I was sewing anything new, I wondered about aprons.  I showed her the Kitchen Gaiety apron I made for Aunt Maggie and she was charmed.



I made three for the shop.  They really are so pretty and that name! I must make one for myself.  But up next for the machine is a pink dress for Genevieve, another antimacassar for Dad, and items for the etsy shop.

    I like the apron! Many bib-style aprons are not wide enough at the bib, I find. Splashes occur all over! Very pretty colors, too!

    Lisa, thank you! The apron is not lined. That first photo is just trying to show the color combo of one of the aprons. I see now that it looks like a two-layer skirt.

    Tammy, the top photo is just the two fabrics of one of the aprons, with my Thrift at Home tag in place.

    Cute! I have recently had the realization that my aprons need pockets, particularly the ones I wear when I teach. A few of my aprons are starting to look rather shabby, so it's time to whip up a few new ones!

    Really love the aprons, especially the blue and green one. Also love the use of rick rack! They look old fashioned and lovely.

    The colours are lovely. Such a pretty but useful piece. I could never see the use of a half-apron; I'm far too messy!
