I made our favorite rusks first. Then yesterday I made a batch of anise rusks - they're only okay in my opinion, and I still love the almond, vanilla and cinnamon ones best.
But rusks themselves are fabulous and so perfect with a hot cup of something. Don't we need a hot cuppa every day in winter?
I was happily scrabbling in my fabric and patterns the other day, thinking of summer dresses. Summer! I love the thought.
I confess, I have no idea what rusks are! I'll have to keep my eyes out for them now...I've been making scones and cheese danish to go with our hot drinks ; )
ReplyDeleteI've been day dreaming of spring --- because it feels like spring down here.
ReplyDeleteI've never had a rusk.
I too am dreaming of summer dresses. And spring flowers..
ReplyDeletewhat is rusks?
Sew Blessed Maw, rusks are like biscotti. They're basically biscuits which are baked until they're hard and dry - perfect for dunking. Follow the link in the first sentence for more details - the recipe is there too.
ReplyDeleteI dread summer... the heat, humidity, and bugs... it's not my favorite time of year, although I love having the kids at home and going to the pool.
ReplyDeleteWhy is it that I don't like anise?
Its been so unseasonably nice here it is hard NOT to think of summer!
ReplyDeleteYour rusks are so delicious, Margo. Did you make these in a more "dunkable" shape? as opposed to the wider wedge? Mom
ReplyDeleteMama, yes! You can have one (or more) tonight.
