A lovely way to eat garden peas: in tomato sauce flavored with fresh snipped mint, garlic, and feta. Here I used the final snow peas ("Mammoth Melting Sugar Peas") from our backyard garden. And a quart of home canned tomatoes, simmered down.
We had a side of grilled zucchini, the summer's first for us. My husband called it a zucchini filet.
That is beautiful food porn.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds and looks amazing. We had some garden fresh snow peas for dinner last night ourselves. Nothing beat that freshness. I've never tried to grill a zucchini in that fashion, but I am sure going to have to try it out.
ReplyDeleteI love summer squash, and I'm jealous that mine aren't ready yet.
ReplyDeleteYum!
ReplyDeleteI wonder what my boys (and husband) would say if I served a grilled filet of squash one night... maybe I should try it!
What a delightful summer meal! We had roasted squash and zucchini last night, cut length wise and then sprinkled with Parmesan cheese.
