(This bush, a few months ago)
Inside, I curled up with a Japanese patchwork book and tea.
And then, inspired, I took a greasy old hotpad and appliqued a new top on it, no finished edges anywhere and just a square of denim on the back. Fast, effective sewing therapy. Almost as good as spring.
It takes crazy quilting to a new level, no? I like it!
ReplyDeleteCool bike photo!
ReplyDeleteI love the bike photo! So evocative! Does it inspire a story?
ReplyDeleteI love just hacking away at something. You're right, it just makes you feel better! And it's cute!
ReplyDeleteSylvia, the story is that even though the bikes were "put away" under the porch next to the house, the blowing wettish snow coated them. And see that branch to the right? That's a stray branch from our (long ground-up)Christmas tree!
ReplyDeleteCute hot pad. I have a few that need refinishing as well, just seem to lack the humph. January blaws?
ReplyDeleteOh yes, and those bikes remind me of Pompeii or Hiroshima or something. It's a great photo.
ReplyDeleteJJ, thanks. My husband said the bikes look eerie and he was thinking along the lines of ash, too.
ReplyDeleteJapanese patchwork books must be the thing, because Rebecca just advised me to go buy one. After seeing your inspiring hot pad, I believe I shall!
ReplyDeleteOkay - the bike photo should be printed and framed! I love it!!
