It's what I've used for photos on the blog up until about 2 months ago.

It's a simple camera to operate for sure. I was very impressed with it!Bethhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07759532237777191430noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956538942392497830.post-35258748981056904722010-06-16T14:44:54.407-04:002010-06-16T14:44:54.407-04:00Margo, let's talk. I want to see yours to see if there's a setting that's hiding away, because sometimes it's through several menus to get it to do what you want. If it doesn't have the feature, then I have a relatively inexpensive type to recommend. Also, of course, love the shot on this post :)Anoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956538942392497830.post-91128835564464226572010-06-16T13:36:15.045-04:002010-06-16T13:36:15.045-04:00I was in your shoes a year ago, and my husband bou...I was in your shoes a year ago, and my husband bought me a Sony Cybershot (model DSC-H10)for my birthday. I think it's a Consumer Reports recommended buy. I can get great close-ups without the special lens. I guess it depends on how technical you want to get. I still feel like it's a very "point and shoot" camera, but it has the close-up detail that I want as well. I've been watching the occasional camera commercial advertising their wide variety of lenses (and it makes me drool) but as the Hubs pointed out, I'm very happy with my current camera. Maybe in another year...Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08323958346555827495noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956538942392497830.post-3085295940316536792010-06-16T09:43:34.812-04:002010-06-16T09:43:34.812-04:00I LOVE my Nikon D40. It is such a treat to have a nice camera!Janellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14896749184708256231noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956538942392497830.post-82095828063450137312010-06-16T08:06:24.516-04:002010-06-16T08:06:24.516-04:00P.S. The kit lens (the one that comes with the camera) will be good for close up shots, but a macro lens would be even better. I don't have a macro lens so I can't recommend one, but they are nice.Christian - Modobject@Homehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09687272618188063178noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956538942392497830.post-74639499765786559982010-06-16T07:58:47.646-04:002010-06-16T07:58:47.646-04:00I want a new camera soooo badly. Some of the food bloggers (Smitten Kitchen and the like) tell you about what type of camera they have in their "about" sections. Good luck, lucky you!Jennifer Johttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15595231987892881691noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5956538942392497830.post-64707756087166298362010-06-16T07:56:23.397-04:002010-06-16T07:56:23.397-04:00Oh fun, a new camera! I have a 1.5 year old Nikon D60 right now, before that we had a Canon Rebel, both are great cameras. Nikon has dropped the D40, D60, D70 labeling, they are now D3000, D4000, etc. The 3000 and 4000 are both great consumer grade D-SLR cameras. Ask Beth (Tis Mercy All) about hers, she has a brand spankin' new Nikon that is similar to mine! Email me specific questions if you have any.Christian - Modobject@Homehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09687272618188063178noreply@blogger.com
