The Olive-Green Circle Skirt

I put together a half-circle skirt for myself at the end of May.  It covers up my post-partum belly pretty well and is nice and cool for summer, yet I think the color will carry into fall and winter, too.

I finished the hem with yellow bias tape for fun, and now I think it looks like John Deere colors.  My son and dad will be so pleased.

I was pretty proud of myself for turning this out with a baby in the house, but I cleverly mixed up the sides and now I have a pocket and a zipper where I don't expect them.  As if my brain wasn't foggy enough. . .  and look at this photo where the skirt is skewed so that the side-seam pocket has strayed to the front.

These photos were taken by Genevieve in one of those quick-seize-the-moment activities that guide most of my days right now.

I've got plans for a nursing-friendly summer seersucker dress, but I just need lots of moments to make it.  We'll see. . .

John Deere colours? Add my son to the list of those impressed! He'd like to be an agricultural engineer (at the moment. He's 14) and John Deere are his favourite tractors :)

And I'm impressed you made a skirt with a tiny baby, mixed up seams or not. Lovely colour.

Is that toenail polish I spy? A new skirt - you know what's important, Margo.

Things don't have to be perfect to be useful or enjoyable. I'm guessing you will get that sundress done before summer is over

Ohh, I like it!! And good for you for getting it done with a baby in the house! The John Deere colors are definitely on point.

And thank you for posting photos of said baby. Her little head!! So sweet!

Cute skirt and Mama! and baby! It may fit differently in a few weeks and stop the twisting. I, too, am impressed that you fit any sewing into the mix of your days.

What a lovely skirt, and pretty baby to go with it.. [and the John deere green/yellow is just perfect!].
Hopefully, you will get to sew again, and get that summer dress done.. Best wishes.

Yes, it's important that you be smelling the ros--mm, impatiens(?).

I really appreciate a hidden pop of color like the yellow biased tape. It's a nice detail and I'm so drawn to clothes that have this trait or pretty lining.

The green is a good color for summer and fall. J.Crew has some shorts I've been keeping my eye on in an almost identical olive color.

And that baby head! Makes me so excited for my little one to arrive.
